Why did you decide to take this job overseas?
I lived in Mauritius for 3 years previously, and was very happy to go back!
How does your work compare to what you expected?
Fine, no problems, and I do not regret to have taken the opportunity.
What is life like outside the office?
Brilliant, it is sunny all the time, got a nice comfy bungalow 30 min from work, got palm and coconut trees in the garden, growing bananas and papaya too…
How do you pass weekends?
Day out at the beach, going out, long walks, ‘’tourist spotting’’ on the beach, bit of shopping, romantic walks at sunset…
Advice to anyone considering come to work at your office / location
Island life is great in Mauritius but make sure you do plenty of travelling before going to such a remote spot as it can get claustrophobic, young locals are dreaming of getting out of here to see the world! Shopping is OK but anything out of the very usual is hard to find or expensive, DVDs are dirt cheap but books are not, bring loads…
What did you do before your current role?
I worked as Expat Customer Care Manager in Madagascar for 18 month.
